Which Copy of Fleetwood Mac's Rumours Should You Actually Buy?

Rumours came out February 4, 1977, and it sold so many copies that finding one is never the problem. Choosing one is. We covered the Bone Thugs flip of "The Chain" in our earlier post. This post answers the buying question.
The originals: BSK 3010 and K 56344
The US original is Warner Bros. BSK 3010; the UK original is K 56344. The catalog number tells you little. Discogs splits the 1977 US copies by pressing plant (Los Angeles, Jacksonville, Gloversville and Pitman among them) and lists a US club edition under the same number. The runout and sleeve do the work.
The most-owned US entry on Discogs is a Jacksonville pressing with a textured sleeve, an 11" x 22" foldout insert, and "MASTERED BY CAPITOL" in the runout. Over 20,000 collectors list it. The UK entry we checked has etched runouts crediting "ALLEN" and "EG" and a non-textured sleeve; Discogs lists other UK variants separately, so match your copy to a specific entry.

The reissues
The 2021 European repress was cut by Chris Bellman and pressed by Optimal in Germany, with a fold-out sheet. The 2025 Reprise reissue was made in the Czech Republic and also carries Bellman's "CB" in the runout. Turntable Lab had the 2025 edition new at $27.95 in our search.
Our call
If you want a player, buy a cheap original and stop thinking about it. If you want a keeper, pay median for a clean US copy that still has the insert, and check the runout against the Discogs entry before you pay. If you want zero risk, buy the 2025 new. We would take the clean original at the same money, but that is taste, not a measurement.
